A1 Presentation - Knole

Here is my A1 sheet i presented today, My actual presentation went surprisingly ok, will have to improve for next week as I really do not want a grilling from Robert and Tom

Im really pleased with my effort and suprised with others thoughts, I must say that the images printed really really well, they look alot better on the print than they do on the screen,  Me and my Colleague are also making a model of the cafe area and one more A1 presentation.

Visuals for my A1 presentation

These are the visuals I produced for my A1 Knole presentation, I was surprised with how quickly I managed these as they only took about 3 hours , Im happy with the out come and pleased I have found a good way of producing visuals quickly. But this is for an existing space which I am able to take panoramic photos and I am only installing planting so maybe will still have to work on a different way for when I need visuals for a master plan.

Historic Garden Conservation - Knole Park

For our CMP- Conservation management plan we are looking at Knole park in Sevenoaks, Kent. It is an extremely interesting project and a chance to see other ways that garden designer can work in. I have especially enjoyed looked at the amenity side of Knole, how it cant generate more visitors via creating new spaces with a horticultural interest- This is how i have looked at it, first of all concentrating on the austere Green court in the entrance and then I will be working with a colleague on the second proposal which will concentrate on the cafe area.

New pages for group project

Here are two extra pages for the group project - I put them together to show how dominant the sea is in Bexhill

Bexhill - Spatial character

My task for the group project was Spatial character, I wasn't  quite sure by the term to start with but I think I got on ok.

The end of Woodwharf

Here is the final submission, It turn out better than I thought it would, as to start with I found it hard to get to together, but I was surprised in how much I did in the short time I worked on it.

First Axo

I then got on with my Axonometric, which i thought would be a doddle just like my perspectives which took me a whole day just to do bloody two of them, so to start with tried hand rendering. I went to work to do this so got all the way there and realised i had forgot my flexi curve, so rather then going back to get it thought it would be a bright idea and carry on and do it free hand, well as you could imagine didn't turn out the best and you can see, I tried to tell myself that it was good but I did change it and rendered it Photoshop straight from sketch up, not the best Ive done but it looked fairly ok in the end.

Here is the awful first one,

So after  pulling my hair out,  I remembered that I could Clone stamp from my perspectives the colours I managed to get, so that solved all my problems.

Perspectives

After finally being happy with the design, then worked on trying to add texture and atmosphere to my perspectives, i tried many different ways to do this, started by tracing the sketch up images then hand rendering then with water coloured pencils and markers, this was the first stage which took alot of practices but got somewhere in the end.

These were the first stages with no tinkering around, they looked dull and not what I wanted at all. So then the tinkering started on Photoshop, and here is the out come,

I changed the levels, increased the contrast and tinkered with the curve's, all enhancing the the images, I hope!! Obviously the bottom image is slightly different view from the original but i did do about thirty different ones and these where the final ones that when on the finished sheet, well might have tinkered a little bit more.

I started by using my own scanner at home, which i found to be my main problem, as you can see with the first images, awful, so luckily I work at a printers so could take my stuff there after hours and use a good scanner, makes a big difference.

The Start of the infamous WOODWHARF

Right here is the first stage of my submission, I took my concept and expressed it as best i could using a pattern.  I then took it all in to sketch up to bring everything and work with my model in 3d easily.

Compostion - Layers

This is my edited composition, I have tried to create a sense of depth to the image, also tried using shadows to create a mirror effect to ground two of the images, I have also used a couple of smart filters to give a whole group of images the same filter. I changed the colours because i absolutely hated the colours in the originals!!!

Scale - Cut/paste- Photoshop Skills - Photo - montage

Here are my 4 photo - montages, I have used simple techniques to create each image using photoshop, taking me around 2hrs.

Serpentine Gallery

Serpentine Gallery London

I visited the Gallery on 24th Sept, I went mainly to see the planting by Piet Ouldolf , which did not disappoint but the whole experience of light and dark extenuated, it gave a whole different feel to the planting.  Well worth the visit! I will post more photos soon!  Here Is a link to a Video - http://vimeo.com/26917927
