Masterplan - The start - Is there an end?

I should have been posting more often really but here is my work so far from the first base plan to the end of term 1 with the final crit. The first base plan took a while to get right, I think to start with I was going against what really worked for me, trying to be to straight, as my initial 1-2000 plan that I choose worked with the linear lines of the groins, so the plan was born to have 5 interconnecting jetties that are connected via dreamy planting with an educational theme, centers and educational hubs that explore bio-diversity, bring children and adults in touch with the landscape and seascape that surrounds them.

So going back to what sits right with me and the theme, as I think that this theme is gentle and flowing (well the picture I have in my mind is) I worked with lines that connect the jetties together and connect a feeling to the site via smooth and gentle curves.

I hand drew this plan and then scanned it ready for annotation and rendering in photoshop. I made tree swatches with acrylic and natural sponges to give texture. I then scanned these ready for dropping in to photoshop.

The top row middle one is the tree swatch I ended up using for the fastigiate Populus tremula that line the site. The blues I used to the sea but scrapped that idea in the end. But the bottom right one is the base layer for my planting areas that I then worked over the top with a brush In PS to a disappointing outcome that become pixelated and not sharp at all.

Nice to look at maybe??? but didint work at all on plan

Tried using some objects from around the house, well the Christmas tree was looking like a good option so it got a bit of a hair cut and used as a swatch object, which was actually used in some on my planting areas. Times are tough!!!!

And here we are, final crit, I got a hammering on my crit, maybe I was tired and at that point just needing a bit of a pick me up as I really wasnt feeling great about things at that point but true their words they gave me feedback, not what i wanted to hear but thats life, dont always hear what you want to here. I dint take it in the best way to be honest, and had a bit of a paddy and thought about quitting.  Luckily I wasn't needed at work the next day and had a day at home thinking and reflecting.

This was my out come from my day at home - Baking
